Story Text:

Sigmund Freud is a well-known Austrian neurologist, psychoanalyst, and physiologist renowned for his indulgence in lab and clinical sciences. He is also one of the pioneers and influential theorists of the twentieth century who proposed the psychoanalytical theory of human personality.

Sigmund Freud is also believed to be the early founder in pursuit of human behavior's reasoning. His theories about human thoughts, dreams, childhood memories, consciousness, unconsciousness, and the human drive for sexuality proved a milestone in studying human behavior.

His psychoanalytical theory describes the three constituents of human personality, i.e., id, ego, and superego. Id is the source of primitive drives and wild demands lying in a person's unconscious mind. On the contrary, the superego is the sense of morality and standards set by family, friends, and society. While the ego is the mediator or agent of the human psyche to remind a person to beware of his id's inappropriate and unacceptable demands.

Freud not only presented the theory of psychoanalysis but also suggested psychotherapies to cope with the anxiety caused by continuous suppression of unfulfilled desires, such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Being an atheist, he believed that religion could not give contentment. He said children's relationship with their fathers or father figures determines their religious views.

Some of his works are "The Interpretation of Dreams," "Civilization and it's Discontents", "The Unconsciousness ", etc., which influenced many of his contemporaries and descending theorists and behaviorists. He determined the significant notions that are the components of the human brain and behavior.

He also articulated his beliefs about society and culture. Though his beliefs were not validated by his contemporaries and were very controversial, later research proved their significance and efficiency.
